baked apples

I’m not usually one for dessserts, but one thing I do love is Apple Pie. However, I have virtually zero counter space (literally 2 square feet in my whole kitchen) which means rolling dough and making a pie is out of the question. So what’s a girl to do?

Make the healthier, easier alternative of course! I found this recipe and have fallen in love.

What you need:

Apples (one for each person)
Brown Sugar
Cinnamon
Butter (optional)

You can also add extras like walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries, etc.

What you do:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Core the apples, but not all the way through or your goodies will seep out through the bottom.

Stuff it with brown sugar, cinnamon and anything else you want with a bit of butter on top.

Cook for 15-20 minutes.

And voila! You a reasonably healthy dessert that’s simple and tastes just like apple pie.

Messiness – This recipe is pretty self-contained so you don’t have much of a mess at all.

Simplicity – Super simple. Just coring and stuffing. No measurements needed because you just make them according to your liking.

Budget – You most likely have the sugar, cinnamon and butter already so all you need to buy is the apples, which this time of year is fairly inexpensive.

Delicious Factor – 5/5. It’s the greatest dessert I’ve ever had, and the fact that you can make it whenever you want, quickly and easily makes it even better.
